Upperhill is a prime office node location due to its proximity to the CBD, major hospitals, financial institutions, government offices, courts, insurance companies and the airport. The area has a mix of office, residential and hospitality developments. Upper Hill was originally an upper middle residential area with stand alone units and scattered low rise apartments. It has since become a commercial hub with some of the tallest iconic office buildings in the Nairobi skyline. Demand for the residential units in the area is high as individual investors have taken up units available in the area.The location in relation to the CBD, and other commercial and residential nodes makes it a popular location. Infrastructural development has been a point of concern for users of commercial spaces as the area encountered traffic snarl-ups. However, the past two years have seen infrastructural upgrades and rehabilitation making the area more accessible. The upgrading of Ngong Road has also made movement in and out of Upper Hill easier.
